Creating an appealing story idea part 2

This time we’re continuing our look at what makes a news story. After all, the media are in the news business – not in the business of promoting businesses – so try to make what you do newsy.

In addition to last issue’s ideas, media like info that:

· Is unusual – it hasn’t happened in this area or in this manner before

· Sets a record in terms of timing, efficiency, equipment, volume etc.

· Is about someone jumping hurdles or overcoming difficult odds

· Has a big guy versus a little guy, or a hero and a villain, someone swimming against the tide.

Is your business the first family-run massage clinic in the community? Did you just have your 100th boot camp graduate?
