Launch Strong Media Program

Launch strong media program with a bang-on media list

Seen a story about a competitor in the news and wondered why it wasn’t about you instead? It can be. Working with the media is a powerful and cost-effective way to get the word out about your business.

A good place to start is by drawing up a list of media where you’d like to get coverage – your target media list. Here’s how:

· Keep track of what reporter at what media outlet covered your competitor – enter this info into your new target media database

· Think about, or ask your customers what media they follow – you want to get coverage in places your potential customers go – not just where you go. Add these names to database.

· Keep an eye open for local magazines, newspapers, community papers and scan them. If they look like a good spot for coverage of your business, enter them as well.
